The T.L. Sinz Plumbing Late Models came into the night with a terrific battle for the track points championship with Mike Prochnow holding a four point advantage.  Both drivers did exactly what they needed to do in winning their heat races, carrying the four point difference into the feature event.  Buddy Hanestad was the pole sitter as Chad Mahder used his outside front row starting position to drive to the lead and race to the feature win essentially unchallenged.  At the green, Hanestad moved quickly into the second position and tried in vain to track down Mahder.  It was Prochnow who blasted the high side on the first lap and moved from eighth to third on the grid.  John Kaanta challenged Prochnow for the position for several laps but Prochnow withstood the challenge and closed in and followed Hanestad to the line and winning the points battle.  Kaanta and Jake Redetzke rounded out the top five. <<READ MORE>>

July 24th, 2015 - Dunn County Night

Sinz Plumbing Late Model heat was won by AJ Diemel as Mike Goodremote and Chad Mahder held the front row of the feature.  Goodremote took the early lead as Mike Prochnow overtook second position and Rick Hanestad drove to third.  Prochnow took the lead near the halfway point, but Goodremote fought back to regain the position.  As they entered into lap traffic, Prochnow had a better line and moved back out front for good.  Goodremote and a lap car made contact, causing him to lose momentum and fall back slightly and soon thereafter, Hanestad was able to close and take over second position.  The yellow flag flew resetting the field, but Prochnow controlled the restart and drove home to the feature victory.  Hanestad followed him to the checkers in second as Goodremote, Mahder, and Diemel rounded out the top five.  <<READ MORE>>

July 23rd, 2015 - PUre Stock Vs. Hornet Challenge Heats Up Red Cedar Speedway
The Red Cedar Speedway was in action on Thursday, July 23, 2015, for the Dunn County Fair as Pistol Pete's Custom Cycles presented the UMSS Traditional Sprints with Pure Stocks and Hornets.  In addition, the Pure Stock vs. Hornet Challenge which paid $500 to the winner answered the question of which class was faster!  Feature winners included Rick Kobs, Jesse Bryan, and Jeremy Johnson.  It was Bryan taking the Pure Stock vs. Hornet Challenge as the top three finishers were all Pure Stocks.

The UMSS Traditional Sprints took to the track for two heats, two challenge heats, and their feature.  The heats were won by Deer Park, Wisconsin’s Rick Kobs and Stacy, Minnesota’s Mike Mueller.  Kobs came from last to win the first challenge heat and Prior Lake, Minnesota’s Neal Matuska won the second.  The feature race pitted the two challenge winners on the front row as Kobs took the lead on the green and led all but one of the 25 laps to the checkers.  It wasn’t necessarily and easy feat; however, as Chase Viebrock closed on him and appeared poised to steal the show.  As the leaders were approaching lapped traffic, Elk Mound, Wisconsin’s Blake Anderson appeared to lose a motor.  Kobs was able to squeeze by but Viebrock made contact with the leader and spun in the fluids on the track.  Unlike WISOTTA rules which would have placed Viebrock back in the second position for the restart because the caution was not his fault, he was relegated to the rear of the field.  Under UMSS rules, if a car comes to a stop on the track, they go to the rear.  <<READ MORE>>
