Menomonie WI, May 4 – Rain has been the order of the day recently in the Red Cedar Valley, and again on Friday the storms came marching in toward the Red Cedar Speedway. A fast paced program allowed fourteen qualifying events to be completed in just over an hour, but just as the Pure Stock feature rolled on to the track, the rain, which had been dripping for the last couple of heat races, picked up in intensity and the track quickly became too wet, ending the racing program at that point.
Next Friday night, May 11th, will be a very busy night at the speedway. The six feature races that were rained out tonight will be made up and that will be followed by a complete program of racing. There will be no increase in admission for this program which will include twelve feature races plus preliminary heat race contests.
Due to the extra events however, there will be no hot laps on Friday and the racing will start one half hour earlier, with the first race to take the green at 6:30 p.m.
